Lovers of History! This is the home for you! Located across the street from where Union soldiers in December of 1862 crossed the Rappahannock River to attack the city of Fredericksburg. This 2 story home was the only one still standing in the 1300 block of Sophia Street after the attack. It was built in 1827 and is known as the Mander House, but sometimes referred to as the Hancock House.
